Ever wondered how to become an umpire? Or who to approach to assist with your club umpires' training? Look no further than this page! Our association has an Umpire's Committee just waiting to help you to join our team of umpires or to help you to train your team of club umpires.

Our Umpires Convenor is Lee Lamont (National B) and her committee is shown in the link above. Any one of these people will be only too willing to help you to start umpiring or to help you to teach and encourage your club umpires. Programs are in place to start you on your way. There are 9 easy steps to becoming an umpire:
- Contact your Asociation or Club Umpires' Convenor.
- Get yourself a current Rule Book. (available from the Umpires Office)
- Sit the Section 1 Theory Examination. (held frequently throughout the year)
- Note the Exam Dates and List them.
- Gain an exam pass of 70%.
- Attend Umpire Accreditation Courses. (listed on this page)
- Invest in a good whistle. (preferably a finger grip one)
- Invest in a good pair of running shoes, and suitable clothing
- Remember there is no age limit or sex barrier to become an umpire.
Tip of the MonthEvery month we will give you a special tip to help you become a better umpire. Don't forget to check each week for news and photos from your association. We will have profiles and interviews with other umpires and news and information on "how to" and "where to" and "why to" start and enjoy umpiring.
